Running Outside In The Cold

This morning, my first class of the day was cancelled so I decided to do my run outside for the first time. I decided to run the back roads around my house instead of on the treadmill in my basement. I knew it very cold outside so I wanted to make sure I was dressed properly. Nothing would be worse then running outside being freezing or sweating to death.  I found a great website that had very useful information in what to wear and how to dress in layers. If you want to know more about what I found I posted the link below. Have fun and be smart about running outside!

  1. Nicole,
I read your post about going for a run this morning. While your group had the day off, mine was busy rock climbing at the ARC wall. Anyways, you're correct about dressing properly. Dressing correctly avoids chances of hypothermia and even heat stroke! I took a look at your website that you posted and it was very informative and helpful!

  2. Great information. It is so important to dress properly when running, whether it's cold or hot. So many people are misinformed about what is appropriate. I hate when I see people out in their cotton sweats on cold days. You shared some great information and many can learn a lot from your post!

  3. I think it is very important to know what to wear when you are running, many occasions during my soccer practice I either wear too little and I freeze to death or I wear too much and end up taking things off. It is definitely tough to always get the right balance but finding out the right information is worth while. The website is great and I hope a lot more people read it if they are runners.

  4. First I'd like to say I do commend you for running out in this Slippery Rock weather. I to have been wanting to get off the boring treadmill/olyptical and bring some life to my running. Although I have been apprehensive due to the weather but I'll have to check out the site and possibly get out there and start running some backroads myself.
