Training for Pittsburgh Marathon Relay
Last week I officially signed up for my first ever Pittsburgh Marathon Relay in May 2015. For most this isn't a big deal. For me it's huge. I am not a runner by a long shot. I spent my entire life in the water being a competitive swimmer. I still swim today, but I don't compete as much. I decided it was time for me to challenge myself in a different way. Since swimming is the complete opposite of running, I am going to start training in December. I know this will be a long tough journey but I am up for the challenge. Wish me luck!

Good Luck! You're going to have a great time. I have done two half marathons now, and there's no experience quite like it. It's like running through a party. There will be people cheering and music playing the whole way! I've never done a relay, but I'm sure being on a team only adds to the experience.
ReplyDeleteYou'll do great! I ran the relay last year. For some odd reason I chose the longest leg and it ended up being about 7 miles and it was literally all up hill! If you're familiar with Pittsburgh it was the hill to PITT and it was never ending hills. I didn't feel like I was running at all, there was bands on every corner and all the streets were lined with amazing supporters. I'll be running again this year! Good Luck!!!!
